Xiao was born and raised in Wuhan, China. He graduated from Wuhan University in 2021 with Chemistry major bachelor's degree. During the time in Wuhan University, he worked with Prof. Yi Liu on synthesis of low toxic quamtum dots, but now he switched to natural product total synthesis. Outside the lab, he enjoys classical musics, rhythm games, and making music videos all the time.
